You’ve placed your Google ad, but its not showing up – why not?

When logged into your AdWords account, check your Impressions.

No Impressions = no ads showing.

The first reason is, if you’re a new advertiser, maybe Google pulled your ad for a random manual review.

This is getting more common all the time as Google tightens up it’s procedures in the wake of many scams.

If that’s the case you’re stuck with it until the review happens.

This can be very misleading!

Usually this is only possible for Sponsored Links advertisers with a large budget, and many keywords (think thousands, or tens of thousands).

They also know that whatever they spend comes back with friends attached.

Beginning advertisers are not in this position.

If you’re being offered such a service, particularly on a limited budget, make sure you’re being told how the claim can be justified.

Once you’ve chosen a list of keywords, written a simple text ad describing your offer and linked it to the offer page, set a daily budget and click prices, and activated your account with payment details, your ad will display in the locations of your choice. Provided nothing went wrong…

Of course, there’s a bit more to it than that!

Google will make keyword suggestions based on your website landing page, some of which will be useful, others less so.

And your keywords and/or ads may violate Editorial or Trademark Policy.
